My collecting habit began in the Spring of 1987 with packs of the best Topps release ever… 1987 Topps Flagship with the amazing wood borders. My dad would buy me packs after baseball practice or game to keep me motivated in playing.
I collected almost exclusively during the height of the “Junk Wax” era (1986-1994). I mainly was after any George Brett card I could get my hand on at the time. Funny enough that is still the case.
I stopped collecting in 1994. There are a few contributing factors that lead to my exit from the hobby. The Major League Baseball strike was a large reason, it really hurt my love of the game.
I came back to the hobby in 2012, I started simple with a hobby box of 2012 Topps Series 1 and my love for the hobby started to come back with a vengeance.
Over the past 7 years I have really started to focus on PC to a few basic avenues. Kansas City Royals & San Francisco Giants team sets, George Brett & all the Topps Flagship sets from 1970 to current year. You can find my want list at BigShepsCards.com .
I have opened my own eBay store to start selling cards and supplies to help fund the “Plow the Beaver Tour 2021”. Please visit the TBS Sport Cards store.
As for my personal life, I live in the suburbs of Sacramento and I am about to turn 40 years old later this year. I have been married for almost three year and I have one son who just turned one. I graduated from Chico State University with a BA in Speech Communication. I currently work in the health insurance industry for a company my late father started.
